Day 109

I appreciate you.  I don’t say it enough to my students. I should say it every day. Let me edit that: I should say it every day to every student.

While working with them can be challenging, I never stop appreciating them. No matter what is going on outside of the classroom, they always make the day better. I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m saying that I appreciate them.

I appreciate them for who they are.

I appreciate them for their individuality.

I appreciate them for their humor.

I appreciate them for putting up with me.

I appreciate them for letting me teach them.

I appreciate them for teaching me.

I appreciate them for challenging me.

I appreciate them for giving me feedback.

I appreciate them for making their learning public.

I appreciate them for being a part of my life.

I appreciate them for letting me know when I do something wrong.

I appreciate them for laughing at me (there is a lot to laugh at).

I appreciate them putting up with my jokes.

I appreciate them for letting me in their lives.

I appreciate them for working their understandings of history.

I appreciate them for wrestling with big questions that don’t have easy answers.

I appreciate them advocating for themselves.

I appreciate them for making me listen.

I appreciate them asking questions.

I appreciate them for making my life better.

I appreciate them for supporting me in my learning.

I appreciate them for their learning.

I appreciate them for learning together.
